I have to admit, when I watched this I teared up a little. What a beautiful experiment!
After mulling this over I got out my old writing kit and wrote to my amazing grandmother, yes wrote, because she loves writing people letters, she writes to me quite often and I find it easier to pick up the phone and have a chat, but a letter is something I know she will be very happy with receiving.
Anyway, I wrote about all the things that grannies like to hear about, our garden, a new method my flatmate found for catching slugs with beer (very exciting stuff), my job, my cat, all that. Then I told her how much I appreciated her, how fondly I look back at the memories of living on her and my grandfather’s farm, and how lucky I consider myself to be her granddaughter. My Granny is a real gem, such a lovely lady, and at 71 she’s still climbing mountains and organising community groups to preserve history and volunteers that do garden work in the parks of the city I grew up in. She is a real inspiration, and I love her so very much.
In writing her that letter, it did make me feel much happier, and I’m sure when my Grandmother receives it, it will make her day.
That’s why I thought I should share this wonderful video from Soul Pancake, in the hopes that people that see this, might do the same.
